Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Attends TICAD Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo
Sierra Leone's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Francess Piage Alghali, attended the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) Ministerial Meeting. During the event, Mr. Tsuji Kiyoto, Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a strategic meeting with Hon. Alghali to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, State Minister Tsuji expressed his gratitude to Sierra Leone for its close cooperation with Japan, particularly as a key member of the C10 countries, especially regarding Security Council reform.
In response, Hon. Alghali thanked Japan for its ongoing support through TICAD and expressed her intention to continue collaborating on international matters, particularly in the area of Women, Peace, and Security (WPS).
Both sides emphasized the importance of investment for economic development and agreed to continue working closely to enhance economic relations. They also confirmed their commitment to further deepen Japan-Sierra Leone relations in anticipation of TICAD 9 next year.
