East End Lions Accuses Leone Stars Coach of Poaching Players for Unauthorized Trip
East End Lions Football Club has publicly accused Leone Stars head coach, Mohamed Kallon, of unethical behavior after he allegedly invited two of the club’s players on an unapproved trip to Nigeria. According to the club, Kallon initially claimed the trip was for his private team, FC Kallon, but later changed the narrative, stating it was for a home-based national team assignment.
The club says it received no formal communication from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) and insists the timing of the trip does not align with any international match window. East End Lions has emphasized that, even under official circumstances, it is not obligated to release its players outside of those windows.
In a formal complaint sent to the SLFA—with copies also forwarded to the Premier League Board, CAF, and FIFA—the club expressed concerns over what it described as a serious breach of professionalism. It warned that any player who joins the trip without the club’s consent would face disciplinary measures.
Currently in contention for the Premier League title, East End Lions is particularly concerned about the integrity of the competition. The club alleges that Kallon is using his influence as national team coach to pressure players into joining FC Kallon with promises of future selection for Leone Stars.
Calling for an urgent investigation, the club urged the SLFA to take swift and decisive action to preserve transparency and fairness in Sierra Leonean football.
