First Lady Fatima Bio welcomes high-level delegation from Goal International

Sierra Leone's First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, welcomed a distinguished delegation from Goal International, including Goal Sierra Leone's distinguished directors from the United Kingdom and Ireland, to Goderich's office.

 

During the meeting, Her Excellency updated the delegation on its five-year term and highlighted achievements such as the Hand off our Girls Off campaign and the establishment of a dedicated court for rape victims.

 

In particular, they discussed the construction of the 34th Military Hospital, a 600-bed project that will soon be handed over to Sierra Leone.

 

The First Lady also announced her intention to designate November 18 as "World Day for the Prevention and Cure of Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence." She praised the positive effects of the Gender Empowerment Act and thanked the delegation for the visit.

 

In response, Mr. James Riak, Country Director of GOAL Sierra Leone, commended the First Lady's commitment to the safety of women and girls, highlighting the consistency of her efforts and efforts. He pledged continued support and partnership.

 

This conference reaffirms their commitment to gender equality and the welfare of women and girls, and represents a joint effort towards positive in Sierra Leone.
