Kei Kamara Scores in LAFC's Dominant 4-0 Victory Over Former Club Colorado Rapids
Kei Kamara found the back of the net as Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) secured an impressive 4-0 win against his former club, the Colorado Rapids, in the North & Central America League Cup semifinals. The match, held at BMO Stadium on Wednesday night, marked a historic moment for LAFC as they advanced to the Leagues Cup Final for the first time in the club’s history.
Kamara's goal came just before halftime, doubling LAFC’s lead to 2-0 after Mateusz Bogusz had opened the scoring in the 42nd minute. In the second half, Denis Bouanga and Lewis O’Brien added two more goals, sealing a comprehensive victory for the Black & Gold. Bouanga's solo effort in the 59th minute extended LAFC’s lead, while O’Brien, making just his second appearance, rounded off the scoring in the 75th minute.
With this win, LAFC also secured a spot in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup. They will face the Columbus Crew in the Leagues Cup Final on Sunday, August 25th, 2024.
