Kemoh Sesay Explains His Decision to Skip APC Membership Registration
Kemoh Sesay, former Sierra Leone Minister of Transport and Aviation, has announced that he will not participate in the All People's Congress (APC) membership registration. The APC has begun a new round of membership registration and verification to address issues like database inconsistencies, duplicate registration numbers, and unprocessed applications.
Despite his influential role in the party, Sesay revealed in an audio message that he won't register until he knows the fate of his vote in the June 2023 presidential election. He expressed doubts about whether his vote was counted, reflecting broader concerns about vote tallying and intimidation of opposition supporters.
Sesay called for the international community to mediate between the APC and the ruling Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) to ensure a peaceful resolution and transparent electoral process.
The APC's registration process will start on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, with a launch ceremony at the party headquarters in Freetown and similar events in other districts.
