Leone Stars Players Arrive in Liberia for Crucial AFCON Qualifier Against Chad
A large number of foreign-based players for the Leone Stars have arrived in Monrovia, Liberia, as they prepare for their pivotal 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifier against Chad, scheduled for Friday, September 6, 2024.
The team has already completed their first training session at the SKD Practice Pitch in Pensville, Liberia. Notable players such as Augustus Kargbo, Osman Kakay, Kamil Conteh, Alusine Koroma, Alhassan Koroma, Sulaiman Kai Kai, and Hindolo Mustapha are all expected to participate in the second training session later this evening, focusing on fine-tuning their skills and building momentum ahead of the crucial match.
Due to ongoing renovations at the National Stadium in Freetown, the match will be held in Liberia. Following this fixture, the team will travel to Zambia on September 10th for another challenging away match.
The Sierra Leone Football Association has called for unity and support as the Leone Stars prepare for these important games.
