Luawa FC Penalized for Abandoning Match Against Diamond Stars
Luawa FC has been sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee of the Sierra Leone Premier League for abruptly abandoning the second half of their match against Diamond Stars FC on January 19, 2025.
The incident, deemed a breach of fair play and sportsmanship, resulted in Diamond Stars being awarded 3 points and 2 goals.
Additionally, Luawa FC has been fined NLe 8,000, which must be paid in full before their next match. Failure to comply may lead to further disciplinary actions.
The league emphasized its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the sport and urged all clubs to adhere to the established regulations to avoid similar consequences.
