Major Shake-Up in Sierra Leone Civil Service as Government Announces 23 New Postings
On Thursday, August 29, 2024, the Deputy Secretary, Secretary to the Cabinet, and Head of the Civil Service in Sierra Leone released a list of new Administrative Officer postings affecting twenty-three (23) government institutions. The official announcement reads:
"I am pleased to inform you that His Excellency the President has approved the following postings":
1. Mr. Emmanuel Junisa, Deputy Secretary, is appointed as Assistant to the Secretary to the President, replacing Mr. Andrew Saenne Kamara, who has been transferred.
2. Ms. Ann Jeneba Bockarie, Assistant Secretary, is promoted to Senior Assistant Secretary.
MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
- Mr. Tamba Juana is appointed as Deputy Director General.
- Mrs. Marvel Emelia Bassie, Assistant Secretary, is promoted to Senior Assistant Secretary.
MINISTRY OF FINANCE
- Mr. Abu Bakarr Majid-Sesay is appointed as Deputy Secretary.
- Mrs. Aminata Jimmy is appointed as Deputy Secretary, replacing Mrs. Dorcas Hassan-King, who has been transferred.
MINISTRY OF DEFENSE
- Mr. Gilbert Cooper is appointed as Director General, replacing Mr. Mohamed B. Daboh, who has been transferred.
MINISTRY OF HEALTH
- Mr. Andrew Sorie is appointed as Permanent Secretary, replacing Mr. Prince E. O. Cole, who has been transferred.
MINISTRY OF BASIC AND SENIOR SECONDARY EDUCATION
- Mr. Brima M. Sowa is appointed as Permanent Secretary, replacing Mr. Brima S.T. Kebbie, who has been transferred.
MINISTRY OF TECHNICAL & HIGHER EDUCATION
- Mr. Mohamed S. Kargbo is appointed as Permanent Secretary, replacing Gilbert Cooper, who has been transferred.
- Ms. Zainab Kamara, Senior Assistant Secretary, is promoted to Deputy Secretary, replacing Ms. Aminata Jimmu, who has been transferred.

- Mr. Edward Mansaray is appointed as Deputy Secretary, replacing Mr. Emmanuel Sandy, who has been transferred.

- Mrs. Florence Bintu Sesay, Senior Assistant Secretary, is promoted to Deputy Secretary.
