Mercy Ships Calls for Patient Registrations for Life-Changing Surgeries
Mercy Ships, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is initiating a registration drive for patients requiring specific surgical procedures. This effort aims to provide life-changing surgeries for individuals with conditions that significantly impact their quality of life.
### Registration Details
The registration process is scheduled to take place in four different communities across Freetown. The dates and locations for the registration are as follows:
- **June 18th to June 21st**:
- Freetown-Community Health Center, Aberdeen Sea Coach
- Freetown-Community Health Center, Wellington
- **June 24th to June 28th**:
- Freetown-Community Health Center, Jui Tect
- Freetown-Community Health Center, Tombo
### Conditions Eligible for Surgery
Mercy Ships is focusing on several specific surgical conditions. Patients with the following conditions are encouraged to register:
- Facial Tumors
- Post Noma (a condition affecting the face and mouth)
- Cataracts
- Inguinal Hernia
- Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate
- Lipoma (a benign tumor composed of fatty tissue)
### Registration Process
Registration for these surgical evaluations is entirely free of charge. However, it is essential for patients to understand that registering does not guarantee surgery. Each patient will undergo a thorough evaluation process conducted by Mercy Ships' medical professionals. Only those deemed suitable candidates by the surgeons will be approved for surgery.
Mercy Ships' mission is to provide high-quality surgical care to those in need, and this registration drive is a crucial step in identifying and assisting patients who can benefit most from their services.
