
Midnight Blaze Claims Two Lives in Waterloo
LA tragic fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday, April 13, 2025, behind the Shalimar building in Waterloo, resulting in the deaths of two people.
The fire reportedly started around 1:57 AM at a timber shop and quickly spread to surrounding structures, including the White House building. Witnesses described a terrifying scene as thick smoke and flames consumed the area within minutes. Residents attempted to extinguish the fire and rescue those trapped inside, but panic and the speed of the blaze made efforts difficult.
One of the victims, identified as a foreign national, was seen calling for help from inside one of the buildings before he tragically succumbed to the flames. His identity has not been made public as authorities work to notify his family.
Emergency crews, including firefighters and medical teams, responded swiftly and battled the fire into the early morning. Despite their efforts, the blaze caused extensive damage to several buildings.
Initial reports confirmed the deaths of at least two people. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and investigations are ongoing.
