Minister Kallon Reflects on 2024 Successes and Sets Ambitious Goals for 2025

 

Minister Amara Kallon of the Ministry of Public Administration and Political Affairs (MoPAPA) has commended his team for their efforts in achieving significant milestones throughout 2024. Speaking during a review session held on January 23, 2025, he highlighted the ministry's growing importance in Sierra Leone's governance framework.

 

Minister Kallon expressed pride in MoPAPA’s recognition as one of the top-performing ministries, with its achievements earning an impressive rating in the Performance Tracking Table (PTT). Despite budget constraints, the ministry made notable progress on its targets and deliverables.

 

Acknowledging challenges faced during the year, the minister urged staff to remain committed to stabilizing and transforming the ministry’s departments and units. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and accountability, warning that there would be no room for delays or inefficiencies in 2025.

 

Reflecting on the achievements of 2024, he praised efforts in rebranding the public service, developing the public service master plan, and securing international recognition for Sierra Leone. The approval of the Revised 2024 Civil Service Code and Rules was also noted as a key milestone.

 

Looking ahead, Minister Kallon outlined plans to further enhance the ministry’s structure and delivery mechanisms. He called on all staff to understand their responsibilities thoroughly, emphasizing the need for timely completion of tasks.

 

The session concluded with presentations from various departments and units, including Public Administration, Political Affairs, Research and Policy, Internal Audit, Human Resources, and ICT. Minister Kallon stressed the importance of documenting all accomplishments and urged staff to maintain their dedication in the new year.
