Ministry of Health Acquires New Vehicles to Improve Emergency and Health Services

The Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) has enhanced its emergency response and healthcare delivery by receiving a new fleet of vehicles. The fleet includes 16 ambulances and 78 motorcycles, aimed at improving healthcare access, especially in remote areas.

This acquisition, made possible through partnerships with the Global Fund, the World Bank, and the World Health Organization (WHO), is expected to strengthen Sierra Leone’s emergency preparedness and healthcare system. The vehicles will address transportation challenges that have previously delayed medical assistance, particularly in rural regions.

Health officials expressed gratitude to the international partners, emphasizing that this support will help reduce emergency response times and improve overall healthcare services across the country. The initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen Sierra Leone's health infrastructure and ensure equitable access to medical services nationwide.
