NaCSA Commissioner Hands Over New Toyota Land Cruiser to ACC for implementation of PSSNYE Project

In a concerted effort to combat corruption in Sierra Leone, the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has recently provided the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) with a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser Station Wagon vehicle. This vehicle, presented on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio, is intended to enhance the ACC's capacity to monitor and contribute to the implementation of the Productive Social Safety Nets and Youth Employment (PSSNYE) Project.

The gesture from NaCSA underscores the government's commitment to bolstering the ACC's efforts in ensuring transparency and accountability within the country. Specifically, the vehicle aims to facilitate the ACC's role in overseeing the PSSNYE Project, which follows the successful completion of the Social Safety Nets (SSN) initiative.

The PSSNYE Project has ambitious goals, aiming to benefit one hundred thousand beneficiaries. Its objectives include expanding cash transfer support to extremely poor households, introducing comprehensive livelihood services to uplift households out of poverty, and providing employment opportunities for thousands of young individuals in the short and medium term.

The ACC's involvement in both the completed SSN and ongoing PSSNYE projects is pivotal, particularly in its role in preventing corruption and leading the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) component. Ambassador Ndomahina, during the official handover ceremony, emphasized the importance of the collaborative partnership between NaCSA and ACC in achieving the goals set by President Julius Maada Bio.

Ambassador Ndomahina expressed confidence that the provision of the new vehicle would significantly enhance the ACC's capacity to support the implementation of the PSSNYE Project. In response, the Acting and Deputy Commissioner of the ACC, Augustine Foday Ngobie, pledged to utilize the vehicle effectively and reiterated the commission's commitment to strengthening its relationship with NaCSA.

Ngobie also conveyed the ACC's gratitude to NaCSA and the World Bank for their timely intervention, underscoring the commission's dedication to fulfilling its mandate without bias or fear.

This collaborative effort between NaCSA and ACC signifies a proactive approach in addressing corruption and promoting socio-economic development in Sierra Leone, reflecting the government's determination to foster a transparent and accountable governance system for the benefit of its citizens.
