Peace Commission Presents Three-Year Achievements to President Bio

On January 10, 2025, the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) presented its three-year report to President Julius Maada Bio at the State House, showcasing its efforts from July 2021 to July 2024.

 

The report highlighted the Commission's accomplishments in fostering peace, justice, and unity across Sierra Leone. Its mission includes promoting peaceful coexistence, equity, and inclusivity while strengthening conflict prevention and resolution to support national development.

 

The Commission's Strategic Plan focuses on six key areas: Peace Promotion, Mediation and Reconciliation, Early Warning and Response Systems, National Cohesion, Government Advisory Roles, and Collaboration with Partners. These initiatives form a framework aimed at building a stable and united Sierra Leone.

 

President Bio commended the Commission's dedication to its mandate and emphasized the critical role of peace and unity in the nation's growth. He assured continued government support to advance the shared vision of a harmonious and prosperous Sierra Leone.
