PEACE-Salone Hosts National Youth Commission Members for Partnership Talks in Bo City

The Management of People’s Efforts Advocating for Community Empowerment Sierra Leone (PEACE-Salone) recently hosted a significant meeting with members of the National Youth Commission (NAYCOM) in Bo City. This event was aimed at establishing a robust partnership and fostering collaborative efforts to empower the youth in Sierra Leone.

 

The meeting was attended by two senior staff members from NAYCOM, Muhammad M.P. Koroma and Ibrahim Hindowa. Their visit was in response to a request from the management of PEACE-Salone, signaling the start of a promising partnership with NAYCOM.

 

Aruna Kamara, the Chief Executive Officer of PEACE-Salone, expressed his gratitude to the head of the Commission, South, for honoring the invitation. In his remarks, Kamara emphasized the importance of youth empowerment in Sierra Leone and highlighted PEACE-Salone's commitment to this cause. He stressed that the organization's operations are deeply rooted in enhancing the capabilities and opportunities available to young people across the nation.

 

The representatives from NAYCOM conveyed their appreciation to the CEO of PEACE-Salone for his dedication to youth development in both the district and the country at large. They acknowledged that the youth, who constitute a significant portion of Sierra Leone's population, play a crucial role in the nation's development. The NAYCOM officials expressed their pleasure with PEACE-Salone's efforts in advocating for youth interests and creating an environment that supports young people in harnessing their talents, pursuing innovative business ventures, and developing essential skills.

 

The discussions underscored the necessity of continued support and collaboration between organizations like PEACE-Salone and government bodies such as NAYCOM. By working together, they aim to create more opportunities for the youth, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Sierra Leone.
