Port Loko District Council Distributes Tools to 28 Communities
The Port Loko District Council has provided essential tools to 28 communities in the northwest region. On October 8, 2024, the council presented these supplies to councillors representing each community.
The distribution took place at the council's compound, where councillors received equipment such as wheelbarrows, hoes, cutlasses, shovels, rakes, pickaxes, and head pans. This initiative followed requests from councillors for tools to support minor projects in their local areas.
The council administration oversaw the process, ensuring the tools were distributed equally, and provided vehicles to assist those traveling from distant communities.
Councillor Sankoh expressed gratitude during the handover, stating, “Accept a gift for the sentiment behind it, not its value.” These tools will be used for small-scale community projects, involving councillors and local youth in each area.
