President Bio Reiterates Commitment to Big Five Agenda at Annual Retreat in Bo

Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio has reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling the "Big Five Agenda" during his second term in office. This commitment was emphasized at the annual government retreat held at the Galiness Hotel in Bo. The retreat aimed to address the nation's current challenges and strategize on the effective delivery of key development goals.

During the retreat, President Bio reassured his team of his unwavering commitment to the nation and urged them to match his dedication. He emphasized that their primary responsibility is to deliver results, as their performance would be rigorously assessed. The President stressed that the only path to success lies in effective delivery.

He reminded the ministers of their promises to the people of Sierra Leone, underlining the importance of fulfilling these commitments to achieve a comprehensive national development goal. Bio urged his ministers to build on the successes already achieved and to tackle new challenges with higher expectations.

“We have to step up because I put this team together for us to work collectively. I alone cannot do it,” the President asserted. He highlighted the necessity of teamwork and honest discussions in achieving their objectives. “We must have a candid discussion on how we must deliver on the big five game changers.”

President Bio made it unequivocally clear that failure was not an option for his administration. “I will not fail, and I will not accept anyone to fail. Hence, all of you have to step up if you truly want to be part of this team,” he declared. He called on his ministers to be creative and innovative in their approaches, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and without delay.

The retreat is expected to foster a collaborative environment where ministers can openly discuss strategies and solutions to propel Sierra Leone forward. With President Bio’s firm leadership and vision, the government aims to meet its commitments and deliver tangible results for the people of Sierra Leone.

To achieve sustainable development and deliver on the Big Five Agenda, President Bio emphasized the need for a team of resolute ministers, heads of agencies, civil society organizations, and citizens, all working together to find solutions to the challenges at hand.
