Pujehun District Council Awards Market Construction Contract in Gendema
A delegation from the Pujehun District Council, including the Works Engineer, Finance Officer, and Deputy Chairperson, has awarded a construction contract to Samgit Logistics Engineering and Services. The project involves building five lockable stores at the main market in Gendema, located in the Soro-Gbeima Chiefdom.
Key community figures, including Paramount Chief Mustapha Jenge Massaquoi III and local leaders, attended the handover ceremony. The project is funded through local revenue generated from taxes and business licenses, emphasizing the importance of community contributions. The new stores are expected to support traders and farmers, boost local commerce, and create job opportunities.
The council urged residents to monitor the construction process to ensure quality and timely completion. The stores aim to enhance Gendema’s position as a growing commercial hub between Sierra Leone and Liberia.
