Sierra Leone: Community Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness Programme (CP3) - Survey Findings
The Community Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness Programme (CP3) aims to strengthen the capacity of communities and their partners, including Red Cross National Societies, to effectively prevent, detect, and reduce the impact of epidemics. By working directly with communities, the program provides essential information on disease prevention, early detection systems for outbreaks, and timely communication to share important updates.
As part of its Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework, a mid-line Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) survey was conducted in two districts of Sierra Leone. This survey was designed to evaluate the progress made in community knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding epidemic diseases. The mid-line study involved household surveys, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions.
This report presents a summary of the qualitative analysis from these interviews and discussions, comparing them with findings from previous quantitative household surveys. The goal is to identify key gaps and measure the community's readiness in dealing with epidemics.
