Sierra Leone U-20 Captain Urges National Support Ahead of AFCON Quarter-Final

Momoh Ibrahim Kamara, captain of Sierra Leone’s U-20 national team, has called on citizens to show strong support for the Shooting Stars as they prepare for a crucial quarter-final match in the Africa Cup of Nations U-20 tournament.

Kamara highlighted the power of national unity and expressed optimism that with collective backing, the team could make history in the competition. He also thanked the government for its continued support and praised his teammates for their dedication and performance so far.

The Shooting Stars secured their place in the quarter-finals after a strong showing in Group A, with wins against Egypt and Tanzania, a draw with Zambia, and a narrow loss to South Africa.

Now heading into their first-ever U-20 AFCON quarter-final, the team is training with focus and determination, aiming to bring a fresh tactical edge to their upcoming match in Cairo.

Outside of his national duties, Kamara recently signed a one-year loan deal with Minnesota United FC 2, pending approval of his P-1 visa. He described the opportunity as a significant milestone in his football career.
