Sierra Leone's Communications Minister Illuminates Nation's Role in Advancing Global Digital Collaboration

Sierra Leone's Minister of Communications, Technology, and Innovation, Salima Monorma Bah, recently emphasized the nation's significant role in global digital cooperation.

In a statement, she proudly noted Sierra Leone's co-founding membership in the Digital Public Goods Alliance, highlighting the launch of NIDS in 2018 as a pioneering initiative that introduced the concept of a country-as-AI-lab. Minister Bah underscored Sierra Leone's leadership in global discussions surrounding digital cooperation and emerging technologies.

 

The minister expressed, "On AI and DPI’s - Sierra Leone is a proud co-founding member of the Digital Public Goods Alliance, and in 2018, we launched NIDS, which pioneered the concept of country-as-AI-Lab. Sierra Leone has been leading in global conversations on digital cooperation and emerging technologies."

 

This acknowledgment reflects Sierra Leone's commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements and actively contributing to international efforts in the digital realm.
