Sierra Leone's Momoh Kamara Named Best Player in WAFU A U20 Tournament
Nineteen-year-old Momoh Kamara from Sierra Leone has been awarded the Best Player of the Tournament at the WAFU A U20 competition, despite his team’s 2-0 loss to Senegal in the final held in Liberia. Kamara, who plays for Leixoes in Portugal's Liga 2, also claimed the joint top scorer title, netting three goals in four matches. In addition, he was named Man of the Match four times throughout the tournament.
Kamara’s exceptional performance played a pivotal role in leading Sierra Leone’s Shooting Stars to their first-ever WAFU A U20 final and qualification for next year’s AFCON U20 tournament in Morocco.
Following his success, many football fans have urged the Sierra Leone national team coach to keep an eye on the young talent, expressing hope that Kamara could soon make his debut with the senior national team.
