SLFA Approves Replay of FA Cup Final Between East End Lions and Bo Rangers

SLFA Approves Replay of FA Cup Final Between East End Lions and Bo Rangers

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has confirmed that the FA Cup final between East End Lions and Bo Rangers will be replayed following a joint appeal by both teams.

This decision comes after the original match, held on May 3, 2024, was abandoned due to controversial circumstances. Initially, Bo Rangers were held responsible for the disruption. However, both clubs expressed a strong interest in resolving the issue on the field, leading to their joint appeal.

The FA Cup Appeals Committee approved the rematch, citing it as an "exceptional measure" to promote fair play and ensure a definitive result.

The replay is scheduled for October 20, 2024, at a neutral venue, with strict security measures in place. The SLFA will ensure equal ticket distribution to both sets of supporters to avoid any further incidents.

A new team of match officials will oversee the game to guarantee neutrality. Although Bo Rangers’ fine was reduced to NLe 20,000, all other sanctions remain in place.

The SLFA has urged both teams to uphold sportsmanship, reminding them of football's core values. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the final showdown, which promises an exciting conclusion to the FA Cup competition.
