"SLFA President Offers Comfort and Support to Ports Authority FC After Tragic Loss of Head Coach"

Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Thomas Daddy Brima, recently paid a poignant visit to Ports Authority Football Club to extend condolences and offer support following the tragic loss of their Head Coach, Lamin Bangura. The devastating incident occurred on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, in a road accident that also caused injuries to several key personnel within the team.

 

President Brima's heartfelt visit, which occurred on Monday, April 8th at the SLFA Academy Grounds, was aimed at providing solace and encouragement to the grieving team members. His presence served to uplift their spirits and instill in them the determination to persevere in the face of adversity. He delivered words of encouragement, urging the players and the remaining coaching staff to stay resilient and maintain their competitive edge despite the challenges they are facing.

 

The gathering at the SLFA Academy Grounds was a testament to the outpouring of support for Ports Authority FC during this trying time. Vice President 1, Harold Nat-Johnson, Acting General Secretary, Mohamed Benson Bawoh, and Technical Director, Ibrahim Bah, were among those present to express solidarity with the club and its members.

 

In a gesture of solidarity and support, President Brima donated 20 match balls to the team, symbolizing his commitment to helping them navigate through this difficult period. The contribution is intended to bolster the players' confidence as they prepare to resume competing in the Premier League.

 

Captain Mohamed Bangura expressed heartfelt gratitude for President Brima's visit and the generous gesture of donating match balls. He assured the President that the team is determined to honor their coach's memory and perform to the best of their abilities in the upcoming league matches.
