Western ministers sign development agreement with China
The Minister for the Western Region, Adekule J.M. King ESQ, on behalf of the government, signed an agreement with the People's Republic of China to install 40 solar street lights in the provincial capital, Freetown.
This project is valued at $20 million and could help brighten up the Regent and Campbelltown communities, as well as other major communities in the Western region.
A contractor from China is required to work closely with a local supplier, namely Rick Solar Electrical Limited, for three months to facilitate the delivery and installation of solar street lights.
The agreement states that the Ministry of Western Regions will coordinate the various communities in necessary preparations, including identifying strategic locations, assisting in the construction of towers, and ensuring an environment suitable for the movement of people within the communities. The need is clearly stated. It is safe even after installation.
