Wusum Stars Head Coach Mohamed Lamin Kamara Denies Contract Breach Allegations
Mohamed Lamin Kamara, the head coach of Wusum Stars, has strongly denied allegations of breaching his contract, which led to his recent suspension by the club. The management of Wusum Stars issued a press release on June 15, 2024, accusing Kamara of fulfilling commitments to another team during the critical final phase of the 2023/24 Leone Rock Premier League season.
Kamara, who successfully guided Wusum Stars to a 9th place finish in the previous season, securing their position in the top-tier league, categorically denied any wrongdoing. In an interview with NewsFeed Sierra Leone, he challenged the club's management to provide concrete evidence supporting their claims.
"I have received correspondence regarding the allegations and promptly requested proof from the club’s management concerning any conflicting contracts," Kamara stated. He acknowledged the suspension and expressed his willingness to cooperate pending further resolution of the matter.
Under Kamara's leadership, Wusum Stars currently holds the 5th position in the ongoing 2023/24 Leone Rock Premier League season. The team has accumulated 47 points from 31 matches, with a record of 13 wins, 8 draws, and 10 losses.
