Renowned as Benson Da Gospel Rapper, Benson Edward Bangura is on the verge of unveiling his latest gospel rap single titled “Moment of Truth,” which promises to be more than just a song but a powerful sermon in musical form, addressing themes of character, repentance, and adoration.

Benson's journey into the world of music began in his early years, growing up in Freetown and later Kenema, where he immersed himself in the music ministry of The Door Christian Fellowship Church. Despite his young age, his passion for music ministry was evident as he actively participated in the children’s ministry at the church.

As he matured, so did his talent. Benson’s dedication and flair for music led him to represent his region in the prestigious national solo singing competition, Vocal Drift Inspire. Despite being the only rapper among the contestants, his exceptional performance garnered him recognition and exposure, setting the stage for his rise in the gospel music scene.

The accolades soon followed, with nominations for various awards both nationally and internationally. In 2021, Benson was nominated for Best Gospel Artist at the Black Achievement Awards (BAA), International Solo Artist of the Year at the Prayze Factor Awards in Atlanta, USA, and Best Gospel Artist at the Kenema Entertainment Awards (KEA). Notably, he was honored with the title of Most Influential Youth at the Black Achievement Awards.

The following year, Benson continued to make waves, receiving nominations for Best Gospel Rapper of the Year at the Sierra Leone Association of Artists and Musicians (SLAAM) Awards, Best Gospel Artist at the Kenema Entertainment Awards (KEA), and Best Gospel Holy Hip-hop Minister at the Sierra Leone National Gospel Awards (SLNGA), where he clinched the award for Best Gospel Hip-hop Minister of the Year.

Despite being an independent artist, Benson’s talent has garnered widespread recognition. He is also a member of the Morning Dew team, led by Petros Dalton.

With two official songs already released – “Stay Hopeful” in 2021 and “Ol God Tightly” in 2022 – Benson has also collaborated with various artists, including Rap Santa and Christo De Gospel Rapper.
